Coinciding with the passage of 100 days since the assassination of the Iraqi researcher and strategic expert, Dr. Hisham Al-Hashemi,

IFPMC – London would like to announce the completion of evaluation process for research papers participating in “Hisham Al-Hashemi Award for Young Researchers” – Under 35 years, On: the impact of armed groups and militias on economic development and business prosperity in Iraq.

Winning papers to be announced on Friday, October 23, 2020, through an online conference (Webinar), in the presence of a group of invitees.

Award summary:

The initiative was launched on the 8th of July – 2020 in honour of the research and scientific efforts of the researcher and strategic expert, Dr. Hisham Al-Hashemi, who was assassinated by an armed outlaw group.

The aim of the competition: To enhance the importance of sober scientific research as a means to combat the forces of terrorism, ignorance and darkness, and to raise awareness about the challenges facing Iraq, topped by the challenge of spread of violence and terrorist militias.

Participation content: Research material on the topic “Impact of terrorist groups and militias on development in Iraq.”

Receipt of research was closed on Friday, September 11th, at 11 pm Baghdad time zone.

Statistic:

Number of participations: 27

Number of male researchers: 24

Number of female researchers: 3.

24 participants from Iraq – Baghdad, Hillah, Anbar, Nineveh, Kurdistan, Najaf, Basra, Wasit and Nasiriyah.

3 participants from other countries: 3 – Jordan, Morocco, Algeria.

First participation was received on: 16 July, 3:04 pm Baghdad time zone.

Last participation was received on 11 – September, 10:30 pm, Baghdad time zone.

This award is part of the activities of the Policy Making Forum – IFPMC – London, to encourage young researchers to develop research and studies in the field of economics and development.
